欧茨短篇小说《何去何从》中的二元对立与消解

摘　　要：本文运用结构主义文学理论中的二元对立概念对美国著名作家乔伊斯·卡洛尔·欧茨的短篇小说《何去何从》进行哲学探讨。通过对小说中二元对立的相互关系、二元对立的现象及其消解过程的探讨,揭示了蕴藏在表层文本之下的深层涵义。分析结果表明,在20世纪60年代的社会背景和家庭环境影响下,青年人和成年人之间、幻想和现实之间呈现出对立和冲突。在对立的双方进行碰撞和冲突时,弱势的一方势必要被消解和毁灭,由此说明主人公康妮人生悲剧的必然性。This paper mainly studies the binary oppositions in Joyce Carol Oates's short story"Where Are You Going,Where Have You Been?"Through the structural analysis of the relationship and the dissolution of the binary oppositions,the implications behind the superficial text are highlighted.The analysis reveals that under the impact of social and family background of 1960s,the youth and the adult are the two opposite sides,and so are the youngsters'dream and reality.When the two sides are in conflict,the weak party is doomed to be defeated,which explains the inevitability of Connie's tragedy.
