工科博士生英语期刊论文中文献综述性动词运用的难度、成因及对策研究

摘　　要：英语期刊论文中综述性动词在相关文献综述中发挥着极其重要的作用。然而,文献梳理发现,目前国内学术界尚未有专门探讨中国工科博士生英语期刊论文导言中综述性动词运用难度的研究问世。为弥补缺憾,笔者及其团队随机选取了150篇三大领域国内工科博士生发表的SCI和EI英语期刊论文及300篇国际顶级期刊同学科英语论文,分别建立了导言观察语料库和参照语料库。然后采用Antconc软件、词频概貌列表和语篇分析方法,探究了国内工科博士生SCI和EI英语期刊论文导言中综述性动词的使用情况。研究结果表明,国内工科博士生使用的综述性动词多为高频词,中低频词产出量不足,更未触及本族语者所使用的“表外词”,综述性动词运用总体难度偏低。据此,研究团队还使用了个体访谈法,进行了成因分析,并提出了修正对策。本研究对英语期刊论文导言部分的综述性动词运用于教学具有启发意义。Reporting verbs play a critical role in the review of related literature.However,a study of the relevant literature reveals that there exists no research into Chinese domestic engineering doctoral students’sophistication of using reporting verbs in the introductory part of English journal papers in the domestic academia at the present time.To bridge this gap,the author and his working group randomly selected 150 published SCI and EI English journal papers written by domestic engineering doctoral students in the fields of material,chemical engineering and computer sciences,together with 300 English equivalents of the same disciplines published in the international top-tier journal papers,and built an observed corpus and a reference corpus of the introductory part respectively.Then,they explored,through the employment of Antconc software,word frequency profile lists and discourse analysis methods,domestic engineering doctoral students’use of reporting verbs in the introductory part of SCI and EI English journal papers.The results show that the majority of reporting verbs used by domestic engineering doctoral students were of high-frequency words,and the production of medium-and low-frequency words was not enough,not to mention the“off-list words”used by native speakers.Overall,the domestic engineering doctoral students’use of reporting verbs is less sophisticated.Through individual interviews,the working group further analyzed the causes for the findings and developed some coping strategies.The present research has implications for the use and teaching of reporting verbs in the introduction of English journal articles.
