摘　　要：科马克·麦卡锡小说《穿越》的创作素材和灵感来源于他生活过的西南边境,文中有大量篇幅赞美西南边境的自然风光,抨击工业化文明对西部环境的影响,展现了麦卡锡丰富而深刻的处所意识。麦卡锡在《穿越》中的处所意识主要体现在对处所的情感依附、万物平等的处所伦理以及诗意栖居于处所。剖析麦卡锡小说中的处所意识,有助于深入理解麦卡锡的生态思想,引发读者重新审视人与处所的关系。Cormac McCarthy's time in the southwest border provides the raw material for his novel,The Crossing,in which there are endless pages praising natural scenery there and criticizing the effects of industrialization on the environment,representing his rich and deep place awareness.McCarthy's sense of place in The Crossing lies in his love of southwest border,ethic of place,everything being equal,and poetic dwelling in place.A close study of McCarthy's sense of place in The Crossing may help us deepen our understanding of Mc Carthy's ecological thoughts and make us reexamine the relationship between human and place.
