摘 要:作为美国高校的核心教师制度,终身教职制度通过提供“职业安全”保障“学术自由”,以期达到建设高质量高校教师队伍的目的。该制度为美国高等教育的发展作出了重要贡献。终身教职制度自产生之日起就在危机和质疑中不断变革和发展。时至今日,终身.教职制度的核心价值依然存在,对优秀人才的吸引力并没有减退,它还将继续在危机中坚守根本,为美国高等教育和国家的发展继续发挥作用。As the core teacher system in American universities,the tenure system ensures“academic freedom”by providing“occupational safety”,achieving the goal of building a high-quality college teacher team.The system has made important contributions to the development of higher education in the United States.However,the tenure system has been accompanied by crises and doubts since its inception,ami has been constantly changing and developing in the midst of crises and doubts.Nowadays,the tenure system is still facing crises,which even threaten its survival.However,the core values of the tenure system still exist,and its appeal to outstanding talents has not diminished.It will continue to uphold its roots in the crisis and continue to play a role in the development of American higher education ami the country.
