摘　　要：古白话是秦汉至五四运动期间社会各阶层日常交际用语的书面加工形式,纵横开阖,随事随情挥洒铺叙,随时代的发展变化而容纳新事物、新思想与新词语。古白话词汇叠置着从历史上各个时期传承下来的不同历史层次的词语和不断产生的新词新义,在发展过程中呈现出:承上启下、古今贯通的时代性;南北有别、各地存异的地域性;增替并行,与时俱进的时变性;铺陈描绘、通俗晓畅的鲜活性;旧质与新质共存、趋雅与从俗相融、本土与外来碰撞的多元性。The ancient vernacular was a written form of everyday communication between the Qin and Han dynasties and the May Fourth Movement,which was used to describe events and situations as they occurred,and to accommodate new things,new ideas and new words as the times changed.The ancient vernacular vocabulary is superimposed with words of different historical levels inherited from various periods of history and new words with new meanings constantly generated.The following characteris⁃tics have emerged in its development process:the timeliness of carrying on from above and connecting the ancient with the mod⁃ern;geographical differences between the north and the south and between the regions;the parallelism of addition and change with the times;the vividness of laying out the depiction and the fluency;the plurality of the coexistence of old and new qualities,the blending of elegance and vulgarity,and the local and foreign collision.
