“旧我”解体与“新我”重构:论石黑一雄《长日将尽》

摘　　要：小说《长日将尽》是石黑一雄文学中最具代表性的作品,曾获得英国最高文学奖“布克奖”。本文根据卡西尔的时空认知理论,比对文本分析发现,小说首先描写了史蒂文斯在封闭空间达林顿府,通过对其父和达林顿勋爵过去身份的认同,形成了恪守旧式权力机制与“尊严”,将自己异化为完全没有主体的“自我”;但在史蒂文斯踏上六天英国西南部的异域空间旅行中,因为物理时空的转换,史蒂文斯终于从迷失“自我”的孤独灵魂中得以觉醒,实现了“旧我”的解体与“新我”的重构。The Remains of the Day is the most representative masterpiece of Kazuo Ishiguro’s literature and has won the Booker Prize, the highest literary prize in Britain. Based on Cassirer’s spatio-temporal cognitive theory, this paper compares text analysis and finds that Stevens first describes Stevens’ s recognition of his father and Lord Darlington’ s past identity in the closed space of Darlington House, forming a strict adherence to the old power mechanism and “dignity”, and alienating himself into a “self” without subject at all. However, during Stevens’ 6-day journey to exotic space in the southwest of England,because of the transformation of physical time and space, Stevens finally woke up from the lonely soul who lost his “self” and realized the disintegration of the “old self” and the reconstruction of the “new self”.
