试论公共标识“去英语化”现象——以北京地铁站名的历时演变规律为例

摘  要:中国第一条地铁——北京地铁从诞生至今已有50多年的历史。2021年之前,北京地铁站名情况分为三个阶段:第一阶段,英语化处于萌芽状态;第二阶段,英语化达到顶峰;第三阶段,英语化经过顶峰后开始回落,“去英语化”现象兴起。2021年进入第四阶段,延续“去英语化”的趋势,将原有的英语化标识拼音化或弱化,新增站名采用拼音化标识或附加弱化的英语标识。这种演变规律成为公共标识语的缩影,引发了热议。该文通过对北京地铁站名的量化统计,揭示其“去英语化”现象,反映其“去英语化”的过程。Beijing Metro,the first subway in China,has a history of more than 50 years since its birth.Before 2021,the names of Beijing subway stations can be divided into three stages:the first stage is in the bud of English;the second stage is the peak of englishization;in the third stage,after the peak,the anglicization began to fall back,and the phenomenon of"de anglicization"rose.In 2021,it will enter the fourth stage,continuing the trend of"de anglicization",such as pinyin or weakening of the original English logo,and pinyin logo or additional weakened English logo for new station names.This law of evolution has become the epitome of public signs,causing heated debate.Through the quantitative statistics of the names of Beijing subway stations,this paper reveals the phenomenon of"de englishing"and reflects the process of"de englishing".
