英语演讲中母语文化能力的重要性

摘　　要：作为跨文化交际的重要桥梁,英语演讲者承担着传播母语文化的重要角色。然而,很多英语演讲者却用西方思维、西方文化武装自己,忽视了母语文化能力的输入,这导致在比赛中处于不利地位,甚至失败。文章从英语演讲比赛的常规环节论述了母语文化能力在英语演讲比赛中的重要性,并从教材建设、母语文化教学和课程设置等方面入手,提出了教师培养英语演讲者母语文化能力的策略,使他们既能熟知西方文化,又能掌握母语文化,有效促进跨文化交际,从而在比赛中脱颖而出。English public speaking is an important bridge of cross-cultural communication and plays an important role in spreading mother tongue culture.However,many English speakers neglect the input of mother tongue culture,leading to disadvantage or even failure in the English public speaking contests.The author discusses the importance of mother tongue culture competence in English speaking contests from the regular procedures,and starting from the construction of textbooks,teaching of mother tongue culture,and curriculum design,this paper proposes strategies for teachers to cultivate the mother tongue cultural ability of English speakers,so that they can not only be familiar with Western culture,but also master mother tongue culture,effectively promote cross-cultural communication,and stand out in competitions.
