Objective To compare the clinical effects of esomeprazole and omeprazole in the treatment of elderly upper gastrointestinal bleeding induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs).Methods 80 elderly patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding induced by NSAIDs were divided into two groups according to different medication regimens. On the basis of routine treatment, the control group was treated with omeprazole, and the observation group was treated with esomeprazole. The therapeutic effect, hemostasis time, hemoglobin(HGB)level and platelet(PLT)count were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the hemostasis time was shorter than that of the control group, and the HGB level and PLT count were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Esomeprazole has better effect than omeprazole in the treatment of elderly upper gastrointestinal bleeding induced by NSAIDs,which has more significant advantages in shortening the hemostasis time, improving the HGB level and PLT count of patients.
