摘 要:曲亭马琴是日本江户时代受《西游记》影响颇为显著的小说家兼评论家,但有关其与《西游记》深刻渊源的研究尚未充分展开。文章基于第一手研究资料,从译介学与比较文化学的视角考察了曲亭马琴对《西游记》循序渐进的接受历程。1)局部借鉴:激发联想、提升价值,在性格与意境方面尽量贴近江户时代读者的审美需求。2)整体翻案:尽管进行了颇具匠心的嫁接、融合、添加等本土化的尝试,但终因文化隔膜、时代审美潮流的差异而遭遇挫折。3)彷徨反思:曲亭马琴从虚无缥缈少情致、画虎类犬欠新意的角度,对《西游记》的翻案困境进行了反思。4)解读评论:在对幕府文治政策的顾忌、百姓理解水平的考量中,曲亭马琴提出了颇具折中意味的《西游记》观,即“虚诞之中有隐微”。综合来看,《西游记》为江户时代小说家冲破实录思想的束缚提供了理念支撑,曲亭马琴在对文化隔膜的消融、翻案困境的超越、审美潮流的抗衡与妥协中,不断摄取着《西游记》的精髓并推动着江户时代小说虚实理念的发展。Kyokuteibakinn is a novelist and critic who was greatly influenced by Journey to the West in the Edo Period of Japan.However,the research on his deep relationship with Journey to the West has not been fully carried out.Based on the first-hand research data,the author examines Kyokuteibakinn’s gradual acceptance of Journey to the West from the perspective of translation studies and comparative culturology.1)Partial reference:Kyokuteibakinn stimulated association,enhanced value and tried to meet the aesthetic needs of Edo period readers in terms of character and artistic conception.2)Overall adaptation:Despite the attempts of grafting,fusion,addition and other localization with ingenuity,Kyokuteibakinn eventually encountered setbacks due to cultural separation and differences in aesthetic trends of the times.3)Hesitation reflection:Kyokuteibakinn reflected on the dilemma of adaptation writing in Journey to the West from the perspective of illusory and poor imitation.4)Interpretation and comments:Considering the scruples of the shogunate’s policy of cultural governance and understanding ability of readers,Kyokuteibakinn put forward a rather compromise view of Journey to the West,that is,“there are hidden micro elements in the absence of reality”.To sum up,Journey to the West provides conceptual support for the novelists of the Edo period to break the bondage of the thought of recording.Kyokuteibakinn constantly ingests the essence of Journey to the West and promotes the development of the fiction concept of the Edo period by melting cultural separation,surfacing adaptation dilemma as well as counterbalancing and compromising with aesthetic trend.
