摘　　要：外关穴是手少阳三焦经之络穴、八脉交会穴,为临床常用腧穴之一。基于古医籍和现代医学研究,从字义出发,分析外关穴的涵义,阐明外关穴的位置,探讨外关穴的功用,阐述外关穴的治疗原理,分别从“外关之义”、“外关之位”、“外关之用”三个方面进行探析,总结其临床具有解表泄热、行气止痛、调节津液、转利枢机等作用,以期为拓宽腧穴的临床运用提供新思路。Waiguan(TE5)is one of Triple Energizer Channel of hand-shaoyang,and attributes the Luo-Connecting Point and the Eight Confluent Point which is one of the commonly used acupoints in clinic.Based on ancient medical literature and modernmedical research,this paper started from the literal meaning of the Waiguan(TE5),analyzed its meaning,clarified its location,discussed its functions,and expounded the principles of its therapeutic effects.This paper also explored three aspects of the Waiguan(TE5):meaning,location,usage,and summarized the four functions that relieving exterior syndrome and expeling heat from interior,regulating qi-flowing for relieving pain,coordinating Jinye and adjusting the pivot,hoping to provide new ideas for broadening the clinical application of acupoints,
