摘　　要：“民族”概念作为描述工具和分析工具,随着民族国家的构建及其影响扩大而被广泛使用后,人类演进中结成的各种稳定人群共同体皆以“民族”来称谓。人是社会性动物,天生就有聚族的本性,民族只是人类聚族本性的结果和形式。然而,个体的人被联结成为民族共同体,是经由一系列聚民为族的机制实现的。民族具有将人口个体整合为整体的机制和功能。这样一种具有底层逻辑意义的人口整合功能,经由国家民族、文化民族两种基本的民族类型而分别加以体现。两种民族的人口整合功能存在着质的区别,但又不可避免地纠缠在一起,进而对人口个体、社会、国家乃至人类的形态发挥着重要的影响。民族研究必须关注这一重要的内部机制,探讨其形式和功能,进而构建关于民族的内部性叙事。The concept of"Minzu"(meaning nation,nationality,people or ethnic group in Chinese),as a descriptive and analytical tool,has been widely used with the construction of nationstate and the expansion of its influence.As a result,all kinds of stable human communities formed in the evolution of human beings are called"Minzu".Human beings are social animals,born with the nature of clustering,and Minzu is only the result and form of human nature of clustering.However,the integration of individual human beings into a Minzu community is realized through a series of mechanisms of gathering people into the group.Minzu has the mechanism and function of integrating individual population into a whole.Such a function of population integration with underlying logical significance is embodied by two basic Minzu types:national group and ethnic group.There are qualitative dfferences in the population integration functions between national group and ethnic group,but they are inevitably entangled,thus exerting an important influence on the individual population,society,state and even the social form of human beings.Therefore,the study of Minzu must pay attention to this important internal mechanism,explore its form and function,and then construct an internal narrative about Minzu.
