Cerebral microbleeds(CMBs)are one of the imaging markers of cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD),which can affect patients'cognitive function, increase the risk of stroke, dementia, antithrombotic therapy, and intravenous thrombolysisbleeding transformation or even death. The onset of CMBs is hidden, and the pathogenesis is currently unclear. Its pathological processes can be involved microvascular endothelial damage, oxidative stress, vascular inflammation, and bloodbrain barrier damage.Long non-coding RNA(LncRNA)has high specificity and stability, and can be specifically expressed in a variety of nervous system disease.Recent studies have found that LncRNA is closely related to the pathological process of CMBs,suggesting that LncRNA may become a biomarker for early recognition of CMBs.This article reviews the possible pathophysiological mechanisms of LncRNA leading to CMBs,and suggests that LncRNA is involved in the occurrence and development of CMBs,with the potential to become a biomarker for CMBs.
