撄动“性解思惟”——初版《域外小说集》的文体意图

摘　　要：初版《域外小说集》古奥朴讷文体一直遭误解或批评,整部译作主导者和主旨追求也一直有争论。其实,该文体密切配合16篇作品主题,高度呼应鲁迅留日后期论文思想。鲁迅希望借文体抵抗来表征原作(者)的批判和反抗精神,而且以古文之先秦、朴野、古奥、讷涩等特征,撄动国人爱国、反封建、反平庸、反资本主义改良之“性解思惟”。整部小说集寄寓青年鲁迅立“性解”的追求,这是他“立人”思想在应对清末民族危机时的特殊表现。在初版系统工程中,周作人虽有贡献,但属辅助作用。The initial version of Foreign Short Stories has long been misunderstood or even criticized in terms of its plain archaic style,and its initiator and thematic pursuit have been issues of controversy.In fact,the plain archaic style was intended to correspond to the general theme of"criticism and protest"of the 16 short stories translated,which highly echoed the ideas Lu Xun had expressed in his essays during 1907 and 1908.He hoped to utilize stylistic resistance to symbolically represent the critical and protesting spirit he believed to have been conveyed by the original authors in the original works.Specifically,he used the plain archaic style,which consisted of such features as pre Qin Dynasty ideograms,rustic flavor,abstruse words and unsmooth sentences,to inspire his compatriots,so that they could foster a patriotic,anti-feudal,anti-mediocre and anti-capitalistic mindset of genius.Therefore,this collection of translated stories was actually a literary product of Lu Xun's pursuit of"cultivating genius",which in turn was a special practice of his literary agenda of"cultivating strong character"(liren)in response to the national crisis of late Qing Dynasty.His younger brother,Zhou Zuoren,was his assistant in the translational project of the initial version.
