摘　　要：石黑一雄的《别让我走》虚构了一个20世纪90年代英国的克隆人世界,克隆人在黑尔舍姆建构了比较奇特的共同体:在一个“他们什么都卖”的人类世界包围圈之中,黑尔舍姆却运行着一种以礼物交换为核心的“稳态经济”模式。在物质充裕的条件下,稳态经济有利于培养公共精神、慷慨的情感、真正的正义和公平,使人达到最佳的人性状态。克隆人不谋求更多财富,而是更加注重荣誉和情感联系。克隆人被创造的目的是为人类捐献重要器官,他们没有在携死而生的状态下沉沦,相反,他们以礼物交换为基础,建构了现代世界弥足珍贵的和谐的共同体。In Never Let Me Go,Kazuo Ishiguro has invented a world of clones in 1990s England.The clones has established an odd community in Hailsham.Besieged by a human world in which“they sell everything”,Hailsham runs a stationary state economy,whose cornerstone is gift ex⁃change.When people have an affluent life,the stationary state economy will provide an optimal condition for the cultivation of public spirit,generous sentiment and true justice and equality.It will enable people to show their best human nature.The clones attach greater significance to honor and emotional connection than to wealth accumulation.The clones are created to donate vital organs to human beings,but they are not living in the shadow of death.Instead,thanks to gift exchange,they succeed in establishing a harmonious community,which is otherwise unat⁃tainable to the modern world.
