摘　　要：澳大利亚部分高校在20世纪60年代开始开展院校研究,随后,越来越多的高校认识到院校研究的价值,开始建立专门的院校研究办公室,并于1988年成立大洋洲院校研究协会,其院校研究工作逐渐走向制度化。在2000年以后,澳大利亚的院校研究进入成熟时期,越来越多的高校和机构加入大洋洲院校研究协会。澳大利亚院校研究的主要特点为:作为全球院校研究的重要组成部分,澳大利亚院校研究关注的重点是对与学生、教师、教学、科研、预算状况相关的统计数据的收集和分析,其发展阶段与其功能扩展大体相符合,院校研究对澳大利亚高校的发展具有较大的促进作用。虽然澳大利亚院校研究在发展过程中也遭遇了一些挫折,但总体上属于平稳有序发展,预计院校研究在未来澳大利亚高等教育中的地位会更加重要。Some of the universities in Australia began to conduct institutional research in the 1960s.Subse⁃quently,more and more universities recognized the value of institutional research and began to establish special⁃ized academic research offices.In 1988,the Australia Association for Institutional Research was established,and the institutional research gradually became institutionalized.After 2000,institutional research in Australia entered into a mature period,with more and more Australian universities and institutions joining the Austral⁃asian Association for Institutional Research.The main characteristics of Australian institutional research are:Australian institutional research is one of the most important components of global institutional research,and the focus of institutional research in Australia is different from that of European and American Institutional Re⁃search;the development stage of Australian institutional research is generally consistent with the expansion of institutional research functions;the institutional research plays an important role in promoting the development of Australian universities.Although there are some setbacks in the development of institutional research in Aus⁃tralia,it is generally stable and orderly,and it is expected that institutional research will play a more important role in Australian higher education in the future.
