摘  要:教材是学科知识得以传承和发展的载体,教材的语义特征是分析学科知识建构的基础。本研究基于系统功能语言学和合法化语码理论,通过自建小型语料库,运用合法化语码理论中的语义密度连句工具分析国内法律英语教材的语义密度,揭示教材中知识建构的规律。研究发现,法律英语教材话语以间隔型连句方式为主要连接手段,其句间语义关系较为简单且语义浓缩能力弱,各句的语义较为分散且相对独立;水平型连句机制占次要地位,在一定程度上增加了语义密度和语义浓缩能力,体现了法律英语的水平型学科知识特点;仅有少量垂直型连句机制可帮助法律英语教材快速累积和提炼语义,建构起一定层级性知识结构。本研究还探讨了法律英语教材知识建构与学科特征的关联性以及对教学实践的影响。Textbooks are carriers of disciplinary knowledge for its transmission and development,and the systematic analysis of the semantic features of textbooks can be the basis of disciplinary knowledge building.Based on Systemic Functional Linguistics and Legitimation Code Theory,this paper presents a study of the epistemic semantic density and characteristics of disciplinary knowledge in a legal English textbook by employing the sequencing tool of Legitimation Code Theory in a small corpus in order to shed light on legal English teaching.It is found that the legal English textbook uses a large number of compartmental sequencing resources as the main means of inter-sentence sequencing which renders the inter-sentence semantic relation relatively simple with weaker condensation capacity,so the meaning of sentences is scattered and relatively independent;the quantity of horizontal sequencing resources ranks at second place and helps strengthen the semantic density and condensation capacity of the legal English textbook and thus contributes to the construction of a horizontal knowledge structure;a small number of vertical sequencing resources helps quickly accumulate and refine meanings and construct a hierarchical knowledge structure.
