炼心积智:严复倡导逻辑学之目的及启示

摘　　要：严复在致力于介绍西学之时,最为看重的是西学中的逻辑学。不过,目前学界对于严复倡导逻辑学的理解尚不够深刻,没有明确揭示严复关于逻辑学的重要思想,即逻辑学具有“炼心积智”的功效,是开启民智、疗贫起弱的根本途径。由此,在实践效果上我们就只看到逻辑学作为工具学科的性质,而忽视了逻辑学作为一门基础学科、人文学科的地位。应该说这种问题经过逻辑学界的不懈努力已经得到很大改观,但要彻底扭转依然尚需时日,深入阐释严复逻辑学思想的目的和启示,无疑是一个重要契机。显然,明确严复倡导逻辑学旨在“炼心积智”这一观点,有助于我们以更加开放广阔的视野来审视逻辑学的研究视域与实践功能,同时也启示我们应该着力培育民心民智以夯实实现中华民族伟大复兴的信心和勇气。When Yan Fu devoted himself to introducing Western learning,he attached great importance to the logic of Western learning.However,the current academic understanding of Yan Fu's advocacy of logic is not deep enough to clearly reveal Yan Fu's important thought about logic,that is,logic has the effect of tempering the mind and accumulating wisdom,which is the fundamental way to open up people's wisdom to cure poverty.Therefore,in terms of practical effect,we only see the nature of logic as a tool discipline,while ignoring its status as a basic discipline and a humanities discipline.It should be said that this problem has been greatly improved through the unremitting efforts of the logic circle,but it still takes time to completely reverse it.It is undoubtedly an important opportunity to deeply explain the purpose and enlightenment of Yan Fu's logic thought.Obviously,it is clear that Yan Fu's advocacy of logic aims at cultivating the mind and accumulating the wisdom,which helps us to examine the research horizon and practical functions of logic from a more open and broad perspective,and also enlightens us that we should focus on cultivating people's minds and wisdom to consolidate the confidence and courage to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
