摘　　要：《莎士比亚与书》即将在中国出版,我首先必须表达我的荣幸和喜悦之情,非常感谢郝田虎和冯伟认真仔细和密周到的翻译。他们的专注使我愉快地纠正了本书初版中的一些错误,澄清了我的一些措辞表述,对于两位优秀的学者,我表示深深的感激。我希望本书的翻译将在某种程度上有助于我们就如何保存和评价我们的历史的问题开展更加广泛的文化讨论,特别是在我们的数字时代,这一讨论变得益发紧迫。I must begin by expressing how honored and delighted I am that Shakespeare and the Book is being published now in China,and how grateful I am for the thoughtful and careful translation by Hao Tianhu and Feng Wei.Their attentiveness has happily allowed me to correct some errors that appeared in the original edition and clarify some of my phrasing,and to both of these fine scholars I must express my deep gratitude.I hope that in some way this translation of my work will contribute to a larger cultural discussion,increasingly urgent in our digital age,about how we preserve and value our histories.
