摘　　要：高等院校设置变更是一项常态化、长期性、普遍性的工作,是我国高等教育事业发展和高教管理体制机制改革的重要组成部分。该文从院校总量变化、设置变更类型、办学层次变化、多元化办学发展、设置变更进度和地域布局变化等方面全面回顾2000—2019年二十年来西部地区高等院校设置变化情况,对存在的问题提出若干建议,并展望今后的发展趋势。As a normal,long-term and universal work,the establishment change of higher education institutions is an important part of the development of higher education and the reform of higher education management system and mechanism.This paper reviews the changes of institutions of higher learning in western China in the past two decades from the aspects of the total number of institutions of higher learning,the types of institutions of higher learning,the levels of schools,the development of diversified schools,the progress of institutions of higher learning,and the changes of regional layout,and puts forward some suggestions on the existing problems,and forecasts the development trend in the future.
