摘　　要："Who can claim to have seen the most beautiful city of the world without havingseen Esfahan?"asked French novelist Andre Malraux(1901-1976).Esfahan(also spelled Isfahan)is the third largest city in Iran andapopulartouristdestination.The city is renowned for its beauty,blending tree-lined boulevards,Persian gardens,ancient bridges,magnificent palaces and spectacular mosques,giving rise to the saying that"Esfahan is half of the world'One ofits many historic and cultural sites,the Meidan Emam,Esfahan was inscribed on the World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO)in 1979.
