意象图式理论视角下《小小小小的火》的解读

摘  要:《小小小小的火》是华裔美国作家伍绮诗继《无声告白》之后的又一部黑马作品,斩获数项图书大奖。该文从认知语言学的意象图式理论出发,探索作者对小说主题、亲子关系、人物命运走向、心路历程和生存状态的揭示。研究发现:作者以中心边缘图式表达了对边缘群体生存状态和处境的人文主义关怀;容器图式呈现出人物不同的命运走向,解构了“传统规则”式的生活方式;路径图式聚焦于边缘型代表人物米娅的心理活动,拉进了小说与读者之间的距离;系联图式重新审视了父母与子女关系的连接纽带;循环图式指出了小说的主题,如何恰如其分地教育孩子,以及应该过怎样的生活,实现了对美国当下社会问题的审视和思考。该文拓展了文学研究的视野,以期为现实生活提供启发和参考。Following Everything I Never Told You,Little Fires Everywhere is another excellent work by Chinese-American writer Celeste Ng and has won dozens of grand prizes.Starting from the image schema theory of cognitive linguistics,this paper explores the author's revelation of the novel's theme,parent-child relationships as well as characters'fate,mental process and living state.The research finds that the author expresses human concern to the survival state and situation of marginal groups with the central-periphery schema;the container schema presents characters'different fates and deconstructs the traditional rule-based lifestyle that we firmly believe in;the path schema focuses on the psychological movement of the marginal representative character Mia,putting the close relationship between the novel and readers;the link schema reexamines the connection between parents and children;the circular schema points out the theme of the novel,how to properly educate children,and what kind of lifestyle we should live,which have finished the examination and reflection on the current social problems in the United States.To sum up,this article expands the horizon of literary research and aims to provide inspiration and reference for the contemporary life.
