Overview of the Researches on the English Translation of Ancient Chinese Marine Classics

摘　　要：为了解近40年来中国海洋古籍的英译及译介研究情况,以1984—2023年中国知网数据库中的135篇文献作为研究样本,以Cite Space为研究工具,绘制可视化科学知识图谱。由图谱可见:近40年来,研究论文数量基本呈上升态势,发文作者间因师承关系后续虽有合作,但机构间的合作仍有待拓展;论文载体大多为普通期刊,但近年来权威、核心期刊开始关注海上丝绸之路文献的译介;研究主要围绕《山海经》与《镜花缘》的英译展开,主题为整体翻译策略与方法、各种名称翻译、译者/译本比较、文化语境与英译、英译史与文献综述、英译传播与接受等;研究趋势为海洋强国、“一带一路”背景下海上丝路行记的英译、传播与接受、文本中呈现的国家形象及跨文化意义等。建议加强基于语料库的译者风格研究、副文本研究、多模态翻译研究、译本传播与接受研究,以及国家形象研究。To present the status quo of researches on the English translation of ancient Chinese marine classics from 1984 to 2023,135 research papers are collected as the sample from CNKI database and a visual map of scientific knowledge is drawn with the CiteSpace as the research tool.The map shows that although the number of papers is on the rise year by year,the cooperation among research institutions still needs to be strengthened;papers are mainly published by non-key academic periodicals.Yet in recent years,due attention is paid to the translation and introduction of Maritime Silk Road documents by some key journals;researchers mainly focus on the English translation of Shan Hai Jing and Jing Hua Yuan,with such themes as the overall translation strategies and methods,the translation of various names,the comparison of translators/translations,cultural context and English translation,translation history and literature review,and the dissemination and reception of English translations,and so on so forth.The research trend includes such aspects as the translation of the travel records of the ancient Maritime Silk Road,their dissemination and reception in western countries,and the national images and cross-cultural significance within them.It is suggested that future researches be centered on the above trend,especially translator’s style with the help of corpus and para-texts,and multi-modal translation,and what not.
