海外汉学中心的转移与魏侯玮礼学思想简述

摘　　要：美国学者魏侯玮(Howard J. Wechsler)及其专著《玉帛之奠:唐王朝正统化过程中的仪礼和象征》,以文化人类学的新视角研究中国政治实践与礼学的互动,是研究中国中古政治文化史所绕不开的一部著作。但是该书问世至今尚未有中文翻译,关于作者其人的中文资料也甚少,这可能对初步了解这一领域造成部分困扰,文章将该书内容及作者的学术背景做了如下梳理:其一,魏侯玮生平、专著的成书背景及其与汉学界之关系;其二,魏侯玮研究的问题关怀与学术创见;其三,魏侯玮在著作中对于中国传统文化中的“礼”与“正统”等核心概念的理解。American scholar Wei Houwei(Howard J.Wechsler)and his work The Founding of Jade and Silk:Rites and Symbols in the Process of Tang Dynasty's Legalization,is an indispensable work for the study of the political and cultural history of medieval China,which studies the interaction between Chinese political practice and ritual thoughts.However,there has not been a Chinese translation of the book since its publication,and there is very little Chinese information about the author,which may cause some confusion for preliminary understanding of this field.Therefore,the paper summarizes the contents of the book and academic background of the author as follows:firstly,the life of Wei Houwei,the background of the monograph,and its relationship with the sinology community;secondly,Wei Houwei’s problem-solving research focuses and academic innovation,and thirdly,Wei Houwei’s understanding of the core concepts of“rites”and“legalization”in traditional Chinese culture in his works.
