试论身份复合性对译者主体性发挥之影响——以严复和二叶亭四迷为例

摘　　要：严复和二叶亭四迷所处的时代背景较为相近,社会身份属性却存在较大差异。对照二人的身份特征和翻译理念可以发现,译者复合身份对于其主体性的发挥起着重要作用。具体而言,当译者复合身份所属学科范畴偏向于科学时,其翻译实践往往集中于应用翻译领域,译者主体性的发挥会在更大程度上作用于翻译的科学性,表现为研究视角的创新、思维逻辑的运用和专业知识的置换;而当译者的复合身份所属学科范畴偏向于文学时,其翻译实践通常集中于文艺翻译领域,译者主体性的发挥则会在更大程度上作用于翻译的艺术性,表现为文化意识的互通、审美观念的调取和艺术素养的发挥。概括来说,译者身份的学科偏向与翻译对象的领域偏向两相对应,译者的身份复合性则可以促进其主体性发挥,且此作用机制对于推动学科融合与文化交流大有裨益。Although the time background of Yan Fu and Futabatei Shimei is similar,their social identity attributes are quite different.Comparing their identity characteristics and translation ideas,it can be found that the translator's compound identity plays an important role in his subjectivity.Specifically,when the subject category of the translator's compound identity tends to belong to scientific category,his translation practice tends to focus on the applied translation field.In addition,the exertion of the translator's subjectivity will play a greater role in the scientific nature of translation,which is manifested in the innovation of research perspective,the application of thinking logic and the replacement of professional knowledge.However,when the subject category of the translator's compound identity tends to belong to literature category,his translation practice usually focuses on the field of literary translation,and the exertion of the translator's subjectivity will play a greater role in the artistic quality of translation,which is manifested in the exchange of cultural consciousness,the acquisition of aesthetic ideas and the exertion of artistic quality.Generally speaking,the subject category of the translator's identity corresponds to the domain attribution of the translation object.The complexity of the translator's identity can promote the play of his subjectivity,and this mechanism is of great benefit to promoting the integration of disciplines and cultural exchanges.
