《水浒传》前十回疑问代词“那里”的语义特征与非疑问用法

摘　　要：《水浒传》前十回中的“那里”,有指示代词和疑问代词两种用法。疑问代词“那里”存在询问、虚指与反语三种用法。虚指和反语两种用法均由询问用法发展而来,发展过程为:询问处所一一处所虚指或不定指一一处所否定。“那里”的非疑问功能在虚指和反用法中表现,与表达需要和说话人主观态度紧密相关。"There"is used as a demonstrative pronouns or interrogative pronoun in the first ten chapters of Water Margin.As an interrogative pronoun"there"has three usages:inquiry,imaginary reference and rhetorical question.The last two usages are developed from the inquiry usage,whose development process is:place inquiry-virtual reference or indefinite reference to the place negative meaning.The non-questioning function of"there"is manifested in the usage of virtual reference and rhetorical question,which is closely related to the needs of expression and the subjective attitude of the speaker.
