摘　　要：中国现代诗歌,伴随着新文化运动的兴起而登上文学的舞台,在其发轫之际就内在地带有革命的属性。其发展的轨迹,呼应着20世纪初急剧变化的社会政治与文化状况,反抗着业已丧失活力的古代文学传统,也浸染着西方现代主义以及个人主义自我表达的色彩。本期所遴选的英语世界中国现代诗歌研究既包括针对冯至、卞之琳等具有代表性的现代诗人的个案研究,也包括对中国现代诗歌的整体性考论及文学史定位,更有对重要诗歌流派、文学社团、重要出版物的系统梳理,以及对波德莱尔等欧美诗人在中国的译介、批评、传播、模仿和挪用等一系列跨语际实践的探讨。众多研究者不仅关注到现代诗歌创作与中国古典诗歌传统、西方诗学资源以及五四新诗风潮之间充满抗衡、协商与修正的复杂关系,也在积极拓展诗歌批评的视野、探求超越政治话语的审美价值,并且着力发掘被淹没在理论术语和历史浪潮中的个性化声音,以及在商业流行文化、新媒体崛起等时代“场景”下,诗歌生产与传播过程中表现出的新的情感动力。Chinese Modern Poetry emerged at the turn of the twentieth century as one leading force of revolution at literary,political,and social levels.Poetry in modern forms was produced and circulated,and soon became popular within young reader public,responding to the epoch when China was in a state of flux.Modern poetry could be regarded as an arena in which various cultural discourses,literary traditions,poetic theories and styles,negotiated and conflicted with each other.The excerpts in this section include monographic research and anthologies of academic articles delving into the rise and development of modern poetry in twentieth-century China.Scholarly attention has been paid to the renowned modern poets such as Bian Zhilin and Feng Zhi,influential poetry journals,literary associations and so forth.Aside from poetry authored by the Chinese,Western poets like Charles Baudelaire also caught the attention of contemporary scholars for the complicated process though which modernism western poetry and poetics has been translated,borrowed,and appropriated in Chinese context as both literary resource and symbolic capitals.These representative academic pieces have opened up a window through which we can look into the the negotiation between foreign poetry,Chinese traditional poetics,revolutionary discourse,and self-representations.
