摘 要:故事世界(storyworld)是叙事文本建构出的虚拟世界,它整合了叙事作品中人物、事件、场景等构成因子的相关信息及其相互关系。认知交互界面(interface)则是不同个体或系统间信息交换与功能协作的载体。故事世界的认知界面本质是指故事世界充当着叙事活动主体(如作者、读者)与其认识活动的介质,是其整合、重构知识的载体。作为认知界面,故事世界的构建依托于现实世界,但同时又拥有相对自主的运行规律与功能特性。正是借助故事世界这个认知界面,人们的诸多观念与知识才得以从内隐状态进入整合、重构的过程。因此,叙事不再仅仅是各种既有日常认知活动的演练场所,其本身也可视作一种宏观层面上的认知方式。Being virtual world constructed out of the narrative text,storyworld integrates into a whole various vital elements of a narrative including its characters,events,setting as well as their interrelation.On the other hand,cognitive interface can be defined as the surface of contact between two individuals or systems where their information exchange and functional coordination are carried out.To view a storyworld as a cognitive interface means treating it as the mediating factor between storytelling and cognition,as the enabling platform for knowledge integration and reorganization.As an interface,storyworld’s construction has to draw its material from the real world,yet it also displays its own autonomous mechanisms of operation.Via such an interface,a large part of our implicit knowledge can be exteriorized for further processing and restructuring.In the end,to probe into storyworld’s interface nature will enable us to see storytelling itself as a form of macro-scale cognition,instead of a mere drill ground for other cognitive activities.
