摘　　要：音乐学家陈应时与赵如兰从1979年底至1989年曾就宋代音乐研究有过频繁的通信。保存在中国香港中文大学“卞赵如兰特藏”的这些信件显示,陈应时至迟在1979年底开始就着手翻译赵如兰的《宋代音乐资料及其诠释》一书,到1982年3月已将译好的四章寄给赵如兰。他之后的宋代乐谱研究也深受赵如兰宋乐研究的启发。赵如兰对陈应时译书的请求有积极的回应,并于1981年帮他申请到哈佛燕京学社研究基金。虽然陈应时最终未能成行,但两位学者一直关心相互的研究成果。Utilising the correspondence between Chen Yingshi and Chao Rulan from 1979 to 1989,this article explores the scholarly interaction between these two eminent scholars of Song Dynasty music.The letters show that Chen Yingshi began translating Chao's monograph,Sonq Dynasty Musical Sources and Their Interpretation,as early as late 1979,and that by March 1982 he had not only finished translating all chapters of the book but also sent them to Chao Rulan.The correspondence also shows that Chen Yingshi's subsequent research on music notation in the Song Dynasty was also inspired by Chao's work.Chao Rulan responded positively to Chen's request to translate the book,and in 1981 succeeded in getting him a research grant from the Harvard-Yenching Institute.
