摘 要:“语象”与中国的意象说类似,一方面是将二者混淆在一起运用,另一方面是学者对二者进行深入的区分,推动了语象理论的中国化发展。随着“文学与图像”研究的升温,学界重新审视“语象”问题,更为注重两者的本质性差别,并将语象作为文学与图像研究的重中之重。语象作为文学中呈现出的语言形象,涵盖于整个文学的形象之中,具有内在的视觉化特点。在诗歌文体中,语象常以色彩、线条、场面的语言形式和隐喻、象征的修辞手法等来展现视觉化的语言形象。而意象只是反映人们心理的一种表象,其只有借助语言的联结,才会建构整个文本的形象问题。The term“verbal icon”is derived from Wimsatt of the New Criticism School and is used to distinguish traditional“images”.The“verbal icon”is similar to the image theory in China.On the one hand,the two theories are mixed up and used together;on the other hand,scholars make a deep distinction between them,which promotes the Sinicized development of the theory of verbal icon.With the increasing research on“literature and image”,the academic circle reexamines the problem of“verbal icons”,pays more attention to the essential diff erence between the two,and takes the verbal icon as the top priority in the study of literature and image.As the language image presented in literature,verbal icons are included in the image of the whole literature with inherent visual characteristics.In the poetic style,the verbal icon can display visual language images through the linguistic forms of colors,lines and scenes,as well as metaphors and symbolic rhetoric devices.Since the image is only a representation that refl ects people’s psychology,the image of the whole text can be constructed only with the help of the connection of language.
