视听翻译术语Audio Description译名探析  

On the Translated Terms of Audio Description in the Field of Audiovisual Translation

摘　　要：作为视听翻译领域的重要分支,国内在Audio Description(AD)的研究中存在定义模糊、译名混乱的问题。本文首先阐述了不同学者对AD的界定并解释了AD的内涵意义,进而比较了现有的三种汉语译名,即“无障碍电影、音频描述和口述影像”。本文认为,“口述影像”一词涵盖了AD涉及的所有使用场景和适用人群,是目前最符合AD内涵的译名。本文意在回应关于AD译名的争议,促进AD在国内实现译名的统一,以利于国内视听翻译研究的发展。As a significant branch of audiovisual translation,Audio Description(AD)has ambiguous defini-tions and confusing translated terms in domestic research.This paper first elaborates the definitions of AD pro-posed by various scholars and explains the connotation of AD.Then it compares the three present translated terms:"barrier-free movies","yinpin miaoshu"and"kou shu ying xiang".It is clarified that"hou shu ying xiang"is the translation version that best fits the connotation of AD for covering all AD scenarios and users.This paper is to address the controversy over the translated terms,contribute to the Chinese translation uniformi-ty of AD,and advance the development of audiovisual translation in China.
