摘　　要：1642年秋天,英国深陷内战中,国王的军队正准备对伦敦发动进攻。对于即将到来的军事冲突,约翰·弥尔顿赋诗一首,并将诗钉在自家门上,以此表明他对语言的力量抱有的信念。本文考察弥尔顿的诗歌与其切身环境的关系,并讨论诗人对诗歌话语、民族语言,以及对正义表达克服巨大困难的保护能力的坚定主张。In autumn 1642,London was bracing for a possible attack by the king’s forces in the British Civil Wars.John Milton’s response to the imminent military strike was to write a poem,which he tacked on the door of his home-a testament to his belief in the power of language.This paper examines Milton’s poem in relation to its immediate circumstances and discusses the author’s unflinching commitment to poetic utterance,his national language,and the preservative capacity of righteous expression in the face of overwhelming odds.
