摘  要:新砦类遗存对于把握龙山—二里头发展脉络、深化早期夏文化认识等方面具有重要意义。目前学界对这类遗存的认识尚显不足,甚至基础概念方面仍有多种歧见。关于这类遗存主要有“新砦期”和“新砦文化”两种称谓,这两种称谓的提出均为弥补河南龙山文化和二里头文化之间的断层,但两者所指代的内容并不相同,如不进行区分则无法厘清这类遗存的文化内涵。鉴此可将新砦期定义为王湾三期文化向二里头文化转变过程中所有过渡性文化遗存的总称,新砦文化定义为以新砦遗址二、三期为代表的一类特殊遗存,是龙山晚期局部质变的产物。围绕两者的诸多争论,多数与夏文化研究相关,两者均为早期夏文化研究的重要组成部分。Studying the Xinzhai remains is of great significance in understanding the development from Longshan and Erlitou period and deepening our understanding of early Xia culture.At present,the understanding of this type of remains is still insufficient,and even the basic concepts shave a variety of interpretations.There are primarily two terms used to refer to this type of remains,“Xinzhai period” and “Xinzhai culture”.Both terms are proposed to bridge the gap between the Henan Longshan culture and the Erlitou culture,but the content of them are not the same,which might cause confusion in understanding the cultural connotation of this type of remains.In view of this,we define the Xinzhai period as the general term of all transitional cultural relics in the process of the transformation from Wangwan phase III culture to the Erlitou culture.And the Xinzhai culture is meanwhile defined as a unique set of relics represented by the second and third phases of the Xinzhai site;it emerged as a result of significant qualitative changes during the late Longshan period.Most of the debates about the Xinzhai period and Xinzhai culture are related to the study of the Xia culture,and both of them are important components in the study of early Xia culture.
