摘　　要：晏阳初从第一次世界大战中的1918年服务华工,着手推行扫盲识字教育开始,便与平民识字运动结下了不解之缘。他将从教华工识字摸索到的基本经验,应用到中国20世纪20年代后的平民识字运动中,又利用平教会总干事的身份,对平民识字工具和方法进行了卓有成效的研究探索,开发了《平民千字课》、汉字注音、简笔字、平民字词典、平民读物、导生传习制等工具和方法,取得了引人注目的成就,为在一个贫穷落后的国家推行扫盲识字教育积累了经验。Yan Yangchu’s involvement with mass literacy movement began in 1918,when he served Chinese workers in the first World War and promoted literacy education.He applied this basic experience to mass literacy movement in China after the 1920s.As the director-general of Chinese Mass Education Promotion Association,he conducted fruitful research and exploration on tools and methods of mass literacy and developed mass lesson,Chinese character transliteration,simplified Chinese characters,masss dictionary,mass reading book and system of tutorial,making remarkable achievements and accumulating experience for literacy education in a poor and backward country.
