The essence of identity is the belongingness to a culture or value, and culture is the most important cohesive force.Promoting the cultural prosperity and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major strategy to shape and enrich the common spiritual values of the Bay Area, and to enhance the steady development of″One Country,Two Systems″.In the historical journey of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area undertakes an important cultural mission.Based on the discussion of the external determinants and representation mechanisms of identity construction, this paper points out that to jointly build a humanistic Bay Area, the key lies in the reproduction of a community’s stable cultural identity, which includes reshaping cultural communities and their identity representations, enriching identity practices based on collective memory, exploring and improving narrative strategies for Bay Area stories, and empowering grassroots collaborative governance models with culture.
