功能对等理论下西方经典社科著作的汉译研究——以《利维坦》为例

摘　　要：世界学术名著是人类闻名不可多得的瑰宝,随着中国综合国力不断上升,跨文化的交流活动变得愈加不可分割起来,而对外国经典社科类著作的优质翻译,能够帮助当代中国人对于世界文化交流有着更加深刻的了解,并能对中国国际影响力的有机建设产生推动作用,故基于以上动机,本报告将以欧美经典政治哲学著作《利维坦》为例,分析目前《利维坦》汉译工作的现状,并以著名的翻译学家尤金·奈达的功能对等翻译理论体系为主要指导纲领,评析中国市面上所流行的相关《利维坦》英译汉版本译文质量与译文中对等概念的实现,并给出与之相关的建设性意见。World-renowned academic works are invaluable treasures for humanity.With China’s continuous rise in comprehensive national strength,cross-cultural exchange activities have become increasingly inseparable.High-quality translations of foreign classic social science works can help contemporary Chinese people gain a deeper understanding of global cultural exchanges and contribute to the organic development of China’s international influence.Therefore,based on these motivations,this article takes the classic Western political philosophy work“Leviathan”as an example to analyze the current situation of its Chinese translation.The report is primarily guided by the renowned translation scholar Eugene Nida’s theory of functional equivalence.It evaluates the quality of popular English-to-Chinese translations of“Leviathan”available in the Chinese market,assesses how well the concept of equivalence is realized in the translated texts,and provides constructive suggestions related to it.
