Preface to the“Special Issue on Acupuncture Clinical Research Methodology”:Three Major Challenges of Clinical Acupuncture Research

摘　　要：Acupuncture is currently one of the most widely used complementary and alternative medicines in the world.As a treatment with distinctive characteristics,acupuncture,of which the evaluation of the therapeutic effects is a key and eternal theme.Since the publication of the first randomized controlled trial of acupuncture in 1974,to date,more than 10000 acupuncture randomized clinical studies have been published.In general,both the quantity and quality of acupuncture clinical studies have shown a trend of increase.These acupuncture clinical studies have not only confirmed the efficacy of acupuncture,but also promoted the development of acupuncture globally.However,there is still a lack of high-qualityclinical studies ofacupuncture。
