英文成人科普图书的启示——基于皇家学会科学图书奖的分析

摘　　要：对皇家学会科学图书奖210种入围图书在图书评价网站Goodreads上给出的标记人数最多的3个有意义类别进行统计,并对主题进行定性分析,发现入围图书具有如下倾向性:在学科方面,生物学类、心理学类和物理类明显较多;在主题方面,生物进化和人类身心运作机制的占比最多;超过三分之一的图书具有历史或哲学性质,人文性较强。展现科学知识的前沿性、跨学科性和社会建构性,是英文成人科普图书给我国科普创作的3点启示。In the Chinese market of popular science books for adults, English translations have longoccupied the majority of seats, and it is necessary to conduct an overall analysis of theircharacteristics. The winners of popular science book prizes in Britan and America are good samples forstudying this issue. The Royal Society Science Book Prize are among them with a long history,significant influence, and no disciplinary limitations, which have strong reference. Statistical analysiswas conducted on the three valid categories with the most marks on the book review websiteGoodreads for the 210 shortlisted books of the prize. The shortlisted books have the followingtendencies: (1) In terms of disciplines, biology, psychology and physics are significantly morecommon. (2) In terms of themes, biological evolution and the mechanisms of human body and mindaccount for the largest proportion. (3) More than one-third of books have historical or philosophicalproperties, with strong humanistic qualities. Showing the cutting-edge, interdisciplinary and sociallyconstructed nature of scientific knowledge are the three inspirations from English adult popularscience books for popular science creation in China.
