摘　　要：虚拟国际化是高等教育借助信息通信技术推动人员、项目、课程等进行超越物理空间与时间的国际合作交流过程,被赋予国际性、全球性与跨文化性。数字经济发展的需要、信息通信技术的进步、远程高等教育的基础、教育创收利益的驱动以及高等教育对公平的追求是虚拟国际化发展的重要动因。虚拟国际化的运行机制主要包含六个维度,分别是:虚拟国际化的价值引领与政策设计,领导体制与组织结构,课程国际性、全球性与跨文化性,教师发展数字运用,学生流动数字支持,机构的数字国际合作。虚拟国际化能否成为未来高等教育国际化发展的主流模式仍然存在一定认知分歧。Virtual internationalization is the process of higher education using information and communication technologies to promote international cooperation and exchanges of personnel,projects,courses,etc.that transcend physical space and time,and is endowed with international,global and cross-cultural nature.The needs of digital economic development,the progress of information and communication technology,the foundation of distance higher education,the drive of income-generating benefits of education,and the pursuit of equity in higher education are important drivers for the development of virtual internationalization.The operating mechanism of virtual internationalization mainly includes six dimensions,namely,the value leadership and policy design of virtual internationalization;the leadership system and organizational structure of virtual internationalization;the internationalization,global and cross-cultural nature of virtual internationalization courses;the digital use of virtual internationalization teacher development;the digital support of virtual internationalization student mobility;and the digital international cooperation of virtual internationalization institutions.There are still some cognitive differences on whether virtual internationalization can become the mainstream model for the internationalization of higher education in the future.
