摘  要:《黄衫客传奇》是晚清外交官陈季同对于《霍小玉传》的再创作。虽然名为“小说”,但《黄》构成了陈季同自我民族志书写的一部分,介绍了丰富的中国民间俗文化,塑造了茶香诗意的文化中国形象,以及善良宽容的中国人形象。陈氏笔下的中国形象根植于晚清时期的中国南方,并时时参照西方文化,细节上与当时的中国社会有一定的错位。这既是陈季同作为游走于中西方文化的外交官的主动选择,也顺应了当时法国文化界,尤其是浪漫派作家自18世纪以来对“文化中国”的期待视野,因此在法国社会产生了不可忽视的影响。Le Roman de l’homme jaune resulted from an adaptation by Chen Jitong of The Legend of Huo Xiaoyu.Although titled“Le Roman”(novel),Le Roman should be viewed as part of Chen’s auto-ethnographic writing,to the extent that it sought to reflect the richness of Chinese folk culture and create,in the process,the image of a cultural China marked by tea aroma and poeticness as well as the image of a people distinguished by their benevolence and tolerance.Such images of China as depicted by Chen,while largely rooted in the southern China of the late Qing Dynasty,deferred,more often than not,to certain of the then prevailing elements of the western culture.This translated into considerable gaps,in terms of factual details,between the novel itself and the reality of the Chinese society of his times.Such portraying of China was animated by an active choice by Chen Jitong,who,as a diplomat,sought to mediate between Chinese and Western cultures.At the same time,it was dictated by the expectations of the then French cultural circles,especially the Romantic writers,of the“cultural China”,an image cultivated ever since the 18^(th) century.As such,it had a non-negligible influence on French society.
