摘 要:耻与荣、辱作为一种心理现象对成德具有重要的促进作用。荀子提出了“能为”与“不能为”“由中出”与“由外至”两组原则作为君子树立正确耻感与荣辱观的判断依据,指出君子应以做不到提高道德修养等本应“能为”的事情而感到可耻;同时,应该以拥有良好的道德修养等完全取决于自我选择的事情为荣,以缺乏这些事物或因缺乏这些事物而导致身体和尊严的损害为辱。而君子只有依照“礼义之道”来行动,才是取荣避辱的根本之道。荀子对君子之耻与荣辱的系统论析不仅拓展了相关论题的理论深度,而且“能为”与“由中出”概念中体现的对君子自我决定意义的强调,也突显出其道德学说所蕴含的自律论面向。As a psychological phenomena,shame,honor,and disgrace play important roles in promoting moral cultivation.Xunzi proposed the principles of“can do”and“can't do”,distinguishing between reasons originating from oneself and those caused by external factors,as the foundation for a gentleman to establish a correct sense of shame and the concept of honor and disgrace.It is pointed out that a gentleman should feel ashamed for failing to do things that he should be able to do,such as cultivating virtue.At the same time,the gentleman should feel honored to possess moral virtue and other things that depend entirely on his own choices.He should also feel disgraced by the absence of these qualities or any harm caused to his body and dignity as a result.The only way for a gentleman to gain honor and avoid disgrace is by acting in accordance with the“way of propriety and righteousness”.Xunzi's systematic analysis of shame,honor,and disgrace of the gentleman not only expands the theoretical depth of related topics but also emphasizes the significance of self-determination embodied in the concepts of“can do”and“reasons originating from oneself”,highlighting the aspect of self-discipline in his moral theory.
