Objective To investigate the effects of different concentrations of estrogen and androgen on the degree of inflammation and fibrosis in prostate tissue. Methods The total of 84 SD male rats for 4-month-old were randomly divided, and subjected to bilateral testicular resection surgery for castration in 78 rats.At the same time, different concentrations of estrogen and androgen were subcutaneously injected into the castrated rats. One month later, the prostate tissue of the rats was taken, and the degree of prostate inflammation and fibrosis were observed by HE staining and Masson staining, respectively. Results Estrogen can induce inflammation infiltration and fibrosis in prostate tissue, which worsens with the increase of estrogen concentration, while androgen can alleviate the degree of inflammation and fibrosis to a certain extent, and the degree of relief was positively correlated with the proportion of androgen concentration. Conclusion Estrogen can induce inflammation and fibrosis in prostate tissue, while androgen can improve prostatitis and fibrosis, and its effect is closely related to its concentration.
