摘　　要：美国作家约翰·契弗以二战后美国中产阶级为对象创作的系列短篇小说的典型情节模式是一种社会拟剧,阈限空间是这种社会拟剧情节模式的构造方式。以维克多·特纳的社会拟剧理论和阈限性理论为依据,可以发现在契弗的短篇小说中,地理性阈限空间作为叙事场景支撑起社会拟剧的基本结构,仪式性阈限空间作为伦理表征实现了社会拟剧的伦理塑造,体验性阈限空间作为经验路径提供了社会拟剧的读者经验。阈限空间与社会拟剧相结合的研究视角有助于考察契弗在小说中表达经验观念的具体方式以及该表达方式的目的和效果。Social drama is the typical plot pattern in American writer John Cheever's series of short stories targeted at American middle class after World War II,and liminal space is the way of constructing the social drama plot pattern.Based on Victor Turner's social drama theory and liminality theory,it can be concluded that in Cheever's short stories,geographical liminal space working as narrative setting supports the basic structure of social drama;ritualistic liminal space working as ethical representation realizes the ethical formation of social drama;experiential liminal space working as experiential path provides the reader experience of social drama.The research perspective combining liminal space and social drama is helpful in examining Cheever's specific way of expressing the experiences and ideas in his short stories and the purpose and effect of Cheever's expression way.
