摘 要:华喦于雍正、乾隆年间十多次往返于杭州、扬州间,虽然“在扬州”的鬻画收入只得温饱,还陷于“向邻翁乞薪米”境地,然而扬州之行对于华喦绘画艺术的成长却至关重要。在扬州的诗画友和商贾之交,推进了华喦文学修养的提高,其绘画的题材、色彩、境界也获得新提升,其艺术实现了由山水画向花鸟画创作的“主从翻转”。During the Yongzheng and Qianlong periods,Hua Yan traveled between Hangzhou and Yangzhou more than ten times.Although the income from painting"in Yangzhou"did merely cover his basic needs,thus forcing him to keep on"begging for rice from his neighbors",yet the trips to Yangzhou were instrumental in informing his painting style.Ties between poets,painters,and businessmen in Yangzhou promoted the growth of his literary accomplishments,and the further improving of his subject matters,colors,and level of technical skill.In this process of growth lies Hua Yan's"transiting from primary to secondary"and from landscape painting to flower-and-bird painting.
