摘　　要：跨学科组织的学科化改造现象是中国大学中一种独特的组织现象。从组织社会学的制度主义视角来看,作为案例组织的A大学某生态环境类跨学科组织之所以采取向地理学学科化方向改造的转型战略,是由于其在面对大学中的传统单一学科组织和跨学科组织两种组织群体的趋同压力时被迫选择与弱趋同压力的跨学科组织群趋异而与强趋同压力的传统单一学科组织群趋同的结果。这种趋同是由我国独特的学科规范合法性压力和文化-认知合法性压力所共同促成的,而讲求效率的考量,又使案例组织在向地质学、生态学、地理学等多个传统学科回归和靠拢的可能性兼具的情况下,做出集中建设地理学一门学科的战略选择。这一学科化改造的过程,既可以看作是案例组织对我国大学以《学位授予和人才培养学科目录》为本的治理格局的一种妥协,也可以看作是其一次迫不得已的战略突围。对大学跨学科组织另类转型战略的解读,可以使人们认识到在常规的跨学科组织发展思路之外的其他可能性,并对这种中国式的另类可能性进行辩证的思考。Monodisciplinarization is an unusual but reasonable growth strategy for multidisciplinary organizations in China’s universities,as can be seen in this case study of the Earth System Science(ESS)Research Institute of University A,which has transformed itself from a multidisciplinary organization into a monodisciplinary one.Under great pressure of legitimacy building and efficiency improvement,the ESS Research Institute,or the subject of this case study,has been pushed toward institutional convergence rather than divergence.In order to earn academic recognition and social acceptance,as well as reduce costs and minimize time wasting for institutional development,the ESS Research Institute has no choice but align itself with the national policies and regulations that still favor monodisciplinarity over multidisciplinarity.From the perspective of organizational institutionalism,monodisciplinarization is in fact(often reluctant)strategic adaptation that helps multidisciplinary organizations make a breakthrough and achieve institutional growth.
