摘　　要：美国高等工程技术教育经历了起源与兴起、分野与独立、争议与超越三个阶段,呈现出体系建设上形成系统化工程技术人才培养体系、培养特色上构建以工程应用为导向的人才培养模式、培养标准上以专业认证牵引工程技术教育高质量发展等基本特征。其发展经验可为我国探索建设中国特色、世界水平的工程教育体系提供借鉴和启示。Engineering technology education in America has experienced three significant development stages:origin and formation,separation and independence,controversy and transcendence.American ET education system presents three basic characteristics:constructing a systematic training system of engineering and technical talents;forming an application-oriented education and training model;and promoting the high quality of ET education with professional accreditation system.The historical evolution and systematic characteristics of ET education in the United States provide ideas for the construction of Chinese high-quality engineering education system.
