摘　　要：英国绘本作家安东尼·布朗擅长利用细节刻画和幽默创意表达严肃的社会思考。他的《动物园》从孩子的视角讲述了一家四口的动物园之旅,被称为绘本届的“讽刺小说”。他充分利用图画和文字的叙事功能,从动物反观人类、对父权文明和现代城市文明提出严正的抗议和批评,呼吁社会对儿童和动物给与更多的关爱和尊重,对人类文明、尤其现代城市文明进行反思。British picture book writer,Anthony Browne,is good at expressing serious contemplation about the society with artistic details and humor.His picture book Zoo,was considered“a satirical novel”,which accounts a family’s trip to the zoo from a child’s perspective.He made full use of illustrations and linguistic accounts and lodged solemn protests against patriarchal civilization and modern urban civilization.Anthony Browne calls for more care and respect for children and animals and urges the society to reflect upon modern urban civilization.
