摘 要:新一代W波段慢波结构行波管对波导TE_(10)-TE_(n0)模式转换器的低损耗、宽带、转换效率等高性能方面提出了要求。文中重点研究一款全W波段波导模式转换器的设计,实现E面TE_(10)输入到H面TE_(20)输出的模式转换,并结合高效率转换结构,给出实际性能验证。首先,分析了波导TE_(n0)模分布特点,提出E面功分结构、集成扭波导结构及H面反相合成等单元结构;其次,给出TE_(10)-TE_(20)模式转换整体方案设计与电路优化;最后,结合H面异相功分结构集成,基于计算机数控技术,实现该W波段模式转换模块的制备,并完成三端口性能测试。实测结果表明,W波段全带宽内(75 GHz~110 GHz),该TE_(10)-TE_(20)模式转换模块输出端口功率分配比为-3.2 dB±0.2 dB,相位差为180°±2°,输入端口回波损耗优于-20 dB,且实测性能均与仿真结果高度一致,验证了W波段宽带TE_(10)-TE_(20)模式转换器的高效率、低损耗、可行性及鲁棒性。The next generation of W-band slow wave structure traveling wave tube has driven great demands of waveguide TE_(10)-TE_(n0)mode converter with high performance of low loss,wide bandwidth,conversion efficiency.In this paper a mode converter of E-plane TE_(10)to H-plane TE_(20)working on the full W-band is developed.In order to verify the mode converter performance,a transformation structure with high efficiency is also adopted.Firstly,the characteristic of TE_(n0)mode distribution in the waveguide is analyzed.The E-plane power divider,the waveguide twist and the out-of-phase power combiner are proposed and integrated.Secondly,the overall scheme of such TE_(10)-TE_(20)mode conversion is optimized.Finally,this structure is integrated with H-plane out-of-phase power combiner to realize the measurement.This W-band module is fabricated based on CNC technology and measured with three ports.The measurement results,which are agree well with the simulation,show that this module has achieved power distribution ratio of-3.2 dB±0.2 dB,phase difference of 180°±2°,and the return loss is better than-20 dB within the full W-band.The above results verify the high efficiency,low loss,feasibility and robustness of W-band wideband TE_(10)-TE_(20)mode converter.
