摘　　要：近年来毛泽东时代历史的海外研究中,最具创新性的学术成果体现在对中国社会的某些方面和一些个案的研究上。就史料而言,一方面,档案资料可获得性的不均衡造成了毛泽东时代研究在时间、地域分布上的不均衡;另一方面,学者得到了很多新的资料,包括口述历史、回忆录以及已经出版和尚未出版的日记。从问题意识与所获资料的情况出发,社会史可以考察国家、地方或微观层面,可以考察社会群体的状况,也可以考察个人的生活经历。但不应将地方历史与国家历史对立起来,而应将这段历史研究建立在多重方法和多样性资料的基础之上。The Overseas studies on Mao Zedong era in recent years have become more and more prosperous,especially in certain aspects of Chinese socie-tal research and deep case studies.As per the historical materials,on the one hand,the imbalance situation of these materials has caused the paralleled imbal-ance in temporal and spatial distribution of the studies on Mao Zedong era;on the other hand,scholars have also acquired new materials,including oral history records,memoirs,as well as published and unpublished diary.Due to different research questions and materials,social historical studies could be used to examine the state,local,and even more micro level social situation as well as individual life experience.But we should not contradict local history with state history;rather,what we should do is to rebuild this history based on mixed methodology and materials.
