摘　　要：At a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York City on April 18,the United States voted against a widely backed draft resolution that would pave the way for Palestine to obtain full UN membership.The draft resolution recommended to the 193-member UN General Assembly that"the State of Palestine be admitted to membership of the United Nations."The U.S.used its veto power after the draft had secured 12 votes in favor in the 15-member Security Council.
